Join your Region 1 board members in a dialogue about conceptual shift #3: The Science Concepts in the NGSS Build Coherently from K-12. We will also discuss coherence within a unit of instruction that are aligned with students "figuring out" rather than "learning about" the science.


A template for unit coherence that Brian Reiser & Joe Krajcik shared at the NGSS@NSTA Forum last month will be shared which can help guide you in adapting your curriculum to align with the 2014 Oregon Science Standards (NGSS).


Our goal is to facilitate discussions that will assist participants in:

  1. deepening their understanding of the standards, and the learning progressions within them, and
  2. how to adapt their teaching practices to attend to coherence within a unit.


Registration for this event is limited. Registration is free!


This gathering will be held in Classroom 1 near the main entrance. Just ask at the desk and you will be directed to the room.


OMSI has graciously offered free admission to the museum for your immediate family for this event, so bring your children for a fun day at OMSI!
