UPRIVER: A Curriculum for Exploring Watershed Citizenship

  • October 12, 2019
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Lane Community College, 4000 E 30th Ave, Eugene, OR 97405

The experiential and multidisciplinary UPRIVER Story Map curriculum for 6th-thru 12th graders invites students to explore what it means to be global water citizens. The stories around which the curriculum is designed feature restoration projects in the Willamette River watershed in Oregon, and represent water issues people grapple with around the world. The presenter will introduce participants to the curriculum by showing the story map and select video stories, and then will invite participants to complete their own Water Journey map, an activity from the curriculum. (Educators who wish to acquire the full curriculum will need to register for the two-day UPRIVER workshop at Oregon Hatchery Research Center (OHRC), April 4-5, 2020. Find more info here.)

Presenter: Dr. Kathy Chambliss

3 PDUs will be provided upon completion of this workshop.
