Presenter: Andy Byerley is the Math Assessment Specialist with the Oregon Department of Education, and has been a proud educator in Oregon for the past 12 years in the Newberg, Forest Grove, and Hillsboro School Districts. He has served as a middle and high school math and science teacher, a Teacher on Special Assignment, an instructional coach, and an administrator. His love for teaching came out of his first career as an engineer (which somewhat helped justify the student loan debt!). Andy’s educational passions include building strong relationships with students and educators, bringing educators together in community to share practice and learn together, and honing the practices of formative assessment among educators and students.
