Good teachers can teach anything well with good content and high-quality resources. The Teacher Institute for Evolutionary Science (TIES) is here to help with up-to-date evolutionary content, investigations, online games, engaging videos and much more. All of our resources are aligned with NGSS standards on evolution. We will share a classroom presentation that has been reviewed and revised by several educators and biologists, including a former president of the National Science Teachers Association. After the webinar, teachers can visit our website and download all of the materials for free at www.tieseducation.org.
Presenter: A 29-year veteran teacher, Bertha Vazquez is the recipient of several national and local honors, including the 2014 Samsung’s $150,000 Solve For Tomorrow Contest and the 2009 National Environmental Education Foundation Award. She has been the the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Science Teacher of the year three times in her career. Bertha has been the director of The Teacher Institute for Evolutionary Science since 2015. TIES is a project of the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science. Thanks to her work with TIES, she was also the 2017 winner of the National Association of Biology Teachers Evolution Education Award.
