The Diack Ecology Education Program promotes student field-based research in Oregon schools through grants for teachers and students. For the past 30 years, Diack has provided grants to Oregon teachers for field-based research equipment. In the past eight years, we have awarded 163 grants for over $550,000. The process is simple and fast. If you need low tech equipment like waders, poinchos or binoculars; or high tech equipment like water quality sensors or drones - Diack can provide the funds. We also can assist with transportation funding. We want to help students discover our natural world through inquiry-based ecological research.

This webinar session will outline the process for applying for a grant. I will give examples of funded projects from elementary, middle and high school. I will go through the step-by-step process for applying. We accept grants anytime during the school year and the processing time is very fast. Our record from receiving the application to reviewing to approving - two hours and thirteen minutes.

If you or your students have ideas for field-based research, we want to help.

Hosted by Mike Weddle and Bernie Carlsen, Diack Ecology Education Program.
