Presented by: Jerry Kuykendall, Retired classroom and pre-service teacher educator

1 PDU will be awarded for this webinar upon completion of an exit survey at the end of the webinar.

Jerry has been collecting rock and mineral samples from all over the Pacific NW and beyond for over 60 years.  He has taught geology with this collection to teachers and students from grades 3 through graduate school.  His collection is vast and his intention is to give them away to teachers, along with training, to use with their students in the classroom.

This webinar will provide teachers an overview of the methods and practices for meaningful, hands-on experiences and learning for students.  Teachers in this webinar will have the opportunity to go more in depth during a free, three-day workshop August 5-7.

Teachers will walk away from this workshop with at least one student set of rocks and minerals to do inquiry projects and a class set of rocks/minerals to use and display in their classroom.

21 PDUs for the August workshop will also be provided to teachers completing the workshop.

Full Workshop description/syllabus can be found here.

Application for the workshop will be provided during the webinar.
