Join us for a moderate hike through the coastal fog belt forest at Yakona Nature Preserve & Learning Center. Explore how to engage students as scientists by collecting and analyzing real-world data in a living ecosystem. Experience Oregon Science Standard-aligned, hands-on lessons that bring core science concepts to life through the forest. You'll leave with free, ready-to-use resources to support outdoor and classroom learning. Connect with fellow educators and discover how nature can be one of your most powerful teaching tools.
This takes place on a moderate to difficult hiking trail. Please wear long pants, closed toed shoes with tread and layers. If you have concerns about the trail please reach out to Anna Rodgers anna@yakonaoregon.org.
Presented by representatives from Yakona Nature Preserve, Starker Forests and the Oregon Forest Resources Institute.
