Field-based Science Inquiry - Into the Woods (PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT)

This pre-conference workshop will introduce teachers to a variety of methods, equipment and strategies for doing field-based research with students. It will be a hands-on workshop conducted outside, weather permitting.

Conference Registration is required to attend this pre-conference event.  Cost $25/person. 

Workshop Leaders

Mike Weddle, grant administrator for the Diack Ecology Education Program and teacher at the Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School (JGEMS), has 25 years of experience doing field-based research with students.

John Melville from Vernier Science Education will demonstrate the use of various Vernier products like the Go Direct sensors that are ideal for data collecting in the field. John earned a PhD at OSU in Zoology and taught marine biology at Lane CC and Wartburg College.http://www.vernier.com
